X Games Aspen to Feature Four Interactive Festival Villages

Family-Friendly Experience and Renowned Musical Acts to Complement World-Class Action Sports Competition

X Games Aspen 2016 will feature four festival villages to offer the most complete youth cultural experience for fans of all ages to enjoy, from January 28 – 31 at Buttermilk Mountain. In addition to witnessing the talents of the world’s best action sports athletes compete for X Games medals and prize money, X Games Aspen will feature a blend of acclaimed musical artists, interactive gaming, athlete meet ‘n greets, giveaways and more fan-friendly activities.

After four successful concerts at the base of Buttermilk Mountain in 2015, X Games will increase the music offerings to six artists, including a doubleheader Saturday night.

“World-class, progressive competitions, music and gaming are core to the youth and action sports lifestyle at the X Games,” said Tim Reed, vice president, X Games. “We are excited to once again align both artistic and cultural elements in one picturesque location and to provide our fans the opportunity to get up close and personal with their favorite athletes.”

GALLERIA

Thursday – Saturday from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Sunday from 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Whether you want free giveaways, your favorite athlete’s autograph or fun entertainment, Galleria is the festival village to be in. Personalize your own record at the X Games spin art tent, jam out to live DJ’s performing all weekend long from the awards stage, check out the latest gear from your favorite brands and win cool giveaways all weekend long.

GAMING SHACK

Thursday – Saturday from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.; Sunday from 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

The Gaming Shack is the hub for all things gaming, including the Xbox Halo 5 Tournament, where you can watch the world’s best gamers compete for huge prizes and X Games gold. Meet the gamers and immerse yourself into the world of gaming or check out the technology in the partner activation tents.

PLAYGROUND

Thursday from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.; Friday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-9:30 p.m.; Sunday          from 10 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.

Take a turn in the ESPN Sport Zone featuring slapshot hockey where you can wind back and smash the puck at the inflatable target, compete against your friends in basketball double shot to see who can hit the most buckets and the football QB pass game is a must for football fans of all ages. The Playground also features the World of X Games Cinema where you can take a break and check out the latest episodes that air every weekend on ABC or take a turn in the Snowskate Park to show off your skills.

On Saturday and Sunday, the Kid’s Playland will be a highlight for the young ones who will have an opportunity to ride a kid-sized snowmobile around the kids’ course or take part in the many kid-focused activities like penguin bowling, snowman making and much more.

SOUND FACTORY

Follows concert hours

The Sound Factory features full-scale musical concerts by the hottest artists, including deadmau5, DJ SNAKE, KYGO, Nas, Run The Jewels and Twenty One Pilots. Plus, don’t miss the unique art installation of ice guitar sculptures. Performances will begin Thursday, Jan. 28, at 8 p.m., Friday at 9:30 p.m., Saturday at 4:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. and Sunday at 3:30 p.m. (all times MT).

A preferred option for the action sports competitions is also available to fans by purchasing a Platinum Pass for the event. Each Platinum Pass will include access to the platinum suites inside the SuperPipe control tower, serving complimentary beer, wine, spirits and catered food, a guided pre-event tour of the SuperPipe, two-day lift ticket to all four Aspen Snowmass mountains, preferred music viewing, daily autograph opportunities and more.
