The 2016 ESPYS Now Accepting Media Credential Applications

ESPN is now accepting media credential applications for The 2016 ESPYS taking place on Wednesday, July 13, in Los Angeles. The deadline for credential applications is Monday, July 4, 2016.

Who:   Members of the press requesting to cover The 2016 ESPYS may apply for credentials online at http://bit.ly/1PnWI6tIn order to be approved for credentials, requests must be from working members of the media on editorial assignment. All freelancers must supply a letter of assignment on letterhead from their assigning editor with details of the coverage.

What:   The 2016 ESPYS will be hosted by WWE superstar John Cena. The award show gathers top celebrities from sports and entertainment to commemorate the past year in sports by recognizing major sports achievements, reliving unforgettable moments and saluting the leading performers and performances.           

The ESPYS honor ESPN’s commitment to The V Foundation for Cancer Research, a partnership launched with the late Jim Valvano at the inaugural ESPYS in 1993. Fans will be able to vote at ESPYS.com beginning June 22.

When and Where:   The 2016 ESPYS will be broadcast live on ABC Wednesday, July 13, at 8 p.m. ET from Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

*NOTE: There will be no press tent with athlete interviews/photo ops during the show, but a working press area will be available with a simulcast of the show. Based on production needs during the live show, we are unable to guarantee interviews with award winners.
