Show returns to Kansas-Kentucky matchup & site of annual SEC/Big 12 Challenge for second-straight year
ESPN College GameDay Covered by State Farm will originate from the Saturday Primetime presented by AT&T matchup – pitting No. 2 Kansas at No. 5 Kentucky (ESPN, 6:15 p.m.) as part of the annual SEC/Big 12 Challenge presented by Sonic – on Saturday, Jan. 28, from Rupp Arena in Lexington, Ky. Attending this highly-touted tilt for the second-straight year, GameDay begins at 11 a.m. on ESPN, followed by an evening edition leading into the game telecast at 6 p.m.
College GameDay Covered by State Farm is hosted by Rece Davis, who is joined by analysts Jay Bilas, Seth Greenberg and Jay Williams. Bilas will join Dan Shulman and reporter Maria Taylor on the call of the game.
College GameDay’s location will be announced the previous week during the 11 a.m. telecast, ensuring visits to the top storylines and games appearing on ESPN networks each week.
- Kentucky will host GameDay for the sixth time, only Duke and Kansas have been more frequent hosts (both seven)
- Kansas will make its 14th appearance on GameDay, which will tie Duke for second most (UNC at 15)
- Kansas and Kentucky are making GameDay appearances for the eighth-straight year
- Kansas beat Kentucky on January 30, of last year with GameDay in attendance (90-84 in OT) as part of the Big 12/SEC Challenge
2017 SEC/Big 12 Challenge presented by Sonic
ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPNU will present the 10 games of the fourth-annual SEC/Big 12 Challenge showcasing 10 of 14 SEC schools and all 10 Big 12 programs on the common date during the conference schedule.
