The Undefeated, ESPN’s multiplatform initiative focusing on the intersections of sports, race and culture, continues to unveil its 50 Greatest Black Athletes list – a series exploring the societal impact, on-field dominance, and inspiration of top African American athletes as selected by fans. The 50 Greatest Black Athletes were determined by fans via an online survey conducted by SurveyMonkey, the world’s leading People Powered Data platform. Today’s release features athletes ranked Nos. 30 to 21 on the list.
Golden State Warriors NBA champion Stephen Curry is ranked No. 28, one spot ahead of his rival LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers at No. 29. Both NBA stars are the only active players with multiple regular-season MVP awards.

The series includes athlete bios written by Justin Tinsley, Jerry Bembry and Aaron Dodson, as well as illustrations and video elements that will be shared across ESPN platforms and on social media using the hashtag #Undefeated50.
