Enablers Surrounded Convicted Athlete Abuser Larry Nassar at Michigan State

Outside the Lines will air one-hour special today at 12:30 p.m. ET on ESPN

Former Olympic gymnasts Aly Raisman, Gabby Douglas and Simone Biles are just three of the more than 150 women who say they were sexually abused by Team U.S.A. and Michigan State University doctor Larry Nassar. Today, Nassar faces the first of two sentencing hearings in Michigan for first-degree sexual misconduct. Dozens of his accusers are expected to speak, most of them club-level gymnasts from in and around East Lansing. A 14-month Outside the Lines investigation reveals that Nassar was surrounded by adults who enabled his predatory behavior. As investigative reporter John Barr reports, coaches, medical professionals and administrators at Michigan State may have been able to stop nearly two decades of Nassar’s abuse. Barr joins Outside the Lines live from East Lansing with the full story at 12:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
