Host Sam Ponder and analysts Matt Hasselbeck, Randy Moss, Rex Ryan and Charles Woodson will preview the NFL Divisional Playoffs with Saturday and Sunday editions of Postseason NFL Countdown this weekend (Jan. 13-14), beginning at 10 a.m. ET on ESPN both days. Shows will also feature NFL Insiders Louis Riddick, Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter.
Reporters at the Saturday’s games:
- Falcons at Eagles (Sal Paolantonio)
- Titans at Patriots (Dianna Russini)
Reporters at Sunday’s games:
- Jaguars (Jeff Darlington) at Steelers (Dan Graziano)
- Saints at Vikings (Josina Anderson)
Features:
- Leonard Fournette: In week 5, Jaguars rookie running back Leonard Fournette became the youngest player in NFL history with a 90-yard touchdown run against the Steelers. His 181 rushing yards led Jacksonville to a 30-9 road victory, and the jersey he wore on his record-setting touchdown run is now displayed in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Fournette discusses his performance in that game with Countdown’s Jeff Darlington before the Jags-Steelers playoff rematch.
- Uncle Keyshawn: Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas joins his uncle, ESPN analyst and Super Bowl-winning receiver Keyshawn Johnson, to share family memories and insights on the wide receiver position before the Saints’ playoff matchup against the Vikings.
- Vikings Balloon Boy: In 1969, a Minnesota couple took family around the Midwest and gave rides on their tethered balloons at fairs. During halftime of a Vikings playoff game in 1969, their 11-year-old son, Ricky Snyder, rode in the balloon but the rope wasn’t moored to the ground. Young Snyder and the balloon flew high above the stadium into the clouds and eventually landed in an icy lake. Louis Riddick narrates as Snyder re-tells the story nearly 50 years later.
