NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC: Boston Celtics-Houston Rockets Blockbuster Delivers 91 Percent Viewership Increase From Last Year

Broadcast Peaked with Nearly 5 Million Viewers in Fourth Quarter

The March 3 edition of NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC presented by YouTube TV – the Houston Rockets defeated the Boston Celtics in a thriller – drew 3,193,000 viewers, up 91 percent from last year’s comparable broadcast between the Chicago Bulls and LA Clippers (1,673,000 viewers), according to Nielsen. The March 3 broadcast peaked with nearly five million viewers (4,990,000) at 11 p.m. ET.

Through six games, viewership for NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC is up nine percent from 2017, averaging 3,703,000 viewers.

NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC continues March 10 as the San Antonio Spurs visit the Oklahoma City Thunder at 8:30 p.m. Mike Breen, Jeff Van Gundy, Mark Jackson and Lisa Salters is the broadcast team with officiating expert Steve Javie reporting from the NBA Replay Center. NBA Countdown presented by Straight Talk Wireless tips off ABC’s coverage at 8 p.m. with Michelle Beadle, Jalen Rose and Paul Pierce.
