New ESPN Sunday Night Baseball Team To Call New York Yankees-Minnesota Twins Spring Training Telecast On March 22

ESPN’s new Sunday Night Baseball team will call the New York Yankees vs. Minnesota Twins spring training telecast on Thursday, March. 22, at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN2. It will mark the first telecast called by the new team – play-by-play voice Matt Vasgersian, World Series Champion Alex Rodriguez and Olympic Gold Medalist Jessica Mendoza, with Buster Olney reporting. The team will make their regular-season debut on Opening Day, Thursday, March 29, at 7 p.m. when the Los Angeles Dodgers host the San Francisco Giants. They will call their first Sunday Night Baseball presented Taco Bell telecast on April 1 as the Dodgers take on the Giants at 8:30 p.m.

ESPN’s quartet of spring training games begins on Wednesday, March 21 as the defending World Series Champion Houston Astros visit the Washington Nationals at 1 p.m. on ESPN2. The ESPN Radio voice of Sunday Night Baseball, Jon Sciambi, will be joined by World Series Champion David Ross to call the action. On March 23, Sciambi returns to the booth alongside analyst Eduardo Perez when they call the Yankees vs. Boston Red Sox telecast at 1 p.m. on ESPN.

ESPN’s spring training slate concludes on Tuesday, March 27 when the Red Sox host the Chicago Cubs. Karl Ravech and Tim Kurkjian, beginning their 25th and 20th anniversary seasons as ESPN MLB commentators, respectively, will be joined by Perez for the 1 p.m. telecast on ESPN. The trio of Ravech, Kurkjian and Perez will call MLB telecasts throughout the season, including regularly on Monday Night Baseball presented by USAA.

Host Adnan Virk will be joined by analyst and World Series Champion Mark Teixeira for the Baseball Tonight – 2018 Season Preview on Wednesday, March 28, at midnight on ESPN2 leading into Opening Day. The trio will breakdown all of the top storylines before the season gets underway. All ESPN MLB game and studio telecasts are also available streaming on the ESPN App.
