Lakers vs. Warriors ESPN NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC
ESPN’s NBA Sunday Showcase on ABC, presented by Mountain Dew Ice, returns on Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 3, with a special 2 p.m. ET start time. Mark Jones will provide commentary with analyst Hubie Brown and reporter Israel Gutierrez as the Boston Celtics and Kyrie Irving host the Oklahoma City Thunder and Russell Westbrook. Play-by-play announcer Adam Amin and analyst PJ Carlesimo will call the game for ESPN Radio beginning at 1:30 p.m.
This week’s NBA on ESPN slate begins Wednesday night at 8 p.m., when the Washington Wizards host the Indiana Pacers in an Eastern Conference matchup. Mike Breen will provide commentary with analyst Jeff Van Gundy and reporter Tom Rinaldi. In the nightcap, the Utah Jazz visit the Portland Trail Blazers for a 10:30 p.m. Western Conference matchup. Dave Pasch will provide commentary with analyst Doris Burke.
NBA Friday’s doubleheader tips off in New York at 7:30 p.m. when the Knicks host Kyrie Irving and the Boston Celtics. Mark Jones will be courtside with analyst Doris Burke and reporter Cassidy Hubbarth to provide game coverage. This matchup will air exclusively on ESPN in the New York home market. In the 10 p.m. Western Conference nightcap, James Harden and the Houston Rockets face Nikola Jokić and the Denver Nuggets. Ryan Ruocco will provide commentary in Denver with analyst Chauncey Billups.
The defending NBA Champion Golden State Warriors, who currently hold the NBA’s best record, go head to head with the Los Angeles Lakers for this week’s ESPN NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC matchup at 8:30 p.m. Mike Breen, analysts Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson and reporter Lisa Salters will provide commentary for the night live from Oracle Arena. Play-by-play announcer Marc Kestecher and analyst Jon Barry will call the game for ESPN Radio beginning at 8 p.m.
Rules analyst, Steve Javie, will be live at the NBA Replay Center in Secaucus, New Jersey providing his expertise for the Lakers-Warriors and Thunder-Celtics games.
ESPN analyst and former Trail Blazer, Scottie Pippen, caught up with Portland stars Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum for a feature set to air on ESPN’s NBA Countdown prior to Wednesday’s game. The three spent some time in the film room breaking down the essentials for a modern NBA backcourt and made their way to the court for a three-point competition. NBA Countdown, ESPN’s NBA pregame show, will tip off game coverage for each night as host Michelle Beadle joins analysts Paul Pierce, Chauncey Billups and Jalen Rose to preview the games and give halftime reports. ESPN host and analyst Mike Wilbon will be in studio with Beadle and Pierce for Wednesday’s coverage.
ESPN’s The Jump will air at 3 p.m. this week, hosted by Rachel Nichols and featuring a cast of high-profile analysts, reporters and guests.
