To cap off this summer’s Intern Chronicles series, we asked some members of the 2026 intern class to describe their respective experiences over the past 10 weeks. Good luck to all in their next ventures.
ANDRES RODRIGUEZ
As a Global Production Intern in Bristol, Andres provided coverage of the World Cup to ESPN branches in Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. He worked in domestic and global studio shows.
“When I arrived at ESPN, it felt like a dream come true. The World Cup had always been my favorite sporting event, and working around it was amazing. Once the World Cup ended, I shadowed different areas of the company and was able to produce things for SC@Night and some global shows which truly gave me a scope of what I want to do when I graduate. Working here was a blessing, and I am so grateful for the opportunity. “
REIVEN DOUGLAS
Douglas is a News Desk Intern in Bristol. She edited and added necessary visual elements in stories to publish on ESPN.com.
“My summer with ESPN has been one I’ll never forget. I read, edited and published an abundance of stories that helped me develop clear, concise and effective written communication skills. I sat in on the production teams for SportsCenter, First Take, Get Up, NFL Live and Vibe Check and even got to shadow some of the talent for SportsCenter. The ESPN community is extremely open and welcoming. I’m so grateful for everything this internship had to offer.”
GRACE AINGER
As a Production Assistant Intern in Bristol, Ainger created highlights, bumps/teases and video content for SportsCenter, Get Up and NFL Live.
“These last 10 weeks have been one of the greatest learning experiences! From cutting content across different shows, shadowing producers or getting to know my coworkers, I gained valuable skills. There was truly nothing like shadowing the night [NBA star] Giannis Antetokounmpo got traded an hour before the show hit! I am forever grateful for this experience and the talented people I have had the pleasure of learning from. ”
JOLIE KIRK
As a Social Media Intern in Bristol, Jolie helped bring back new and old content, like covering The Ocho.
“If you would’ve told me a year ago that this Oklahoma girl would move to Connecticut for a summer and intern with ESPN, I would be in complete shock. At work, I have learned how to work in a fast-paced, bold and respected team. Outside of work, I have made friends who will be in my corner for life. The interns here have loved and supported me when I needed it the most. I am forever indebted to this internship; I am leaving here better than when I arrived. “
ABIGAIL MOYNIHAN
As the ESPN Communications Intern in Bristol, I wrote press releases, coordinated media relations and worked on multimedia projects for a variety of properties.
“As I close out my time working for the Communications department, I can wholeheartedly say that this is an experience I wouldn’t trade for the world. I have written releases, coordinated production shoots, organized press relations and have worked on high-profile events like the NBA draft. My team took me in as one of their own from Day One and I am leaving Connecticut as a better professional and person because of that.”
