Charlie Creme is ESPN’s women’s college basketball bracketologist and the leading authority on projecting the NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament field. The women’s counterpart to ESPN resident bracketologist Joe Lunardi, Creme has been with ESPN since 2003, and his projections on ESPN.com are a staple of the women’s college basketball season.
Creme appears across ESPN networks and ESPN.com throughout the season, Champ Week and Selection Sunday, breaking down the bubble, seed lines and bracket scenarios as the field takes shape. His work is closely followed by fans, media and coaches, who regularly cite his seed projections.
Creme began predicting the NCAA Tournament field in the 1990s while working alongside Lunardi on the Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook. When ESPN looked to add women’s projections, Lunardi turned the assignment over to Creme, who has held the role ever since.
In addition to bracketology, Creme writes about women’s college basketball and the WNBA for ESPN.com, including preseason Top 25 rankings and WNBA player rankings. A lifelong bracket enthusiast, he cut a bracket out of the newspaper in 1979, at age 8, and began filling in teams as the field was announced.
