Genie Bouchard joins ESPN as a tennis analyst for the 2026 US Open coverage, bringing the perspective of a former Wimbledon finalist and top five player. Her broadcasting experience includes work on TNT Sports’ coverage of Roland Garros and the BBC’s coverage of Wimbledon.
One of the most accomplished players in Canadian tennis history, Bouchard produced a breakthrough 2014 season in which she reached the semifinals of the Australian Open and Roland Garros before advancing to the Wimbledon final. Her run at the All England Club made her the first player born in and representing Canada to reach a Grand Slam singles final. She also became the first Canadian player to reach the WTA Top 5, achieving a career-high ranking of World No. 5 in October 2014.
Bouchard captured her first WTA singles title in Nürnberg in 2014, defeating Karolina Pliskova in the final. She finished as the runner-up at seven additional tour-level singles events and qualified for the 2014 WTA Finals in Singapore. Bouchard also won the 2019 Auckland doubles title alongside Sofia Kenin.
Before her professional breakthrough, Bouchard won the Wimbledon girls’ singles championship in 2012 and was named the WTA Newcomer of the Year in 2013.
A native of Montreal, Bouchard represented Canada at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and competed in 10 Billie Jean King Cup ties, recording 13 victories. She was also a member of the Canadian team that captured the country’s first Billie Jean King Cup championship in 2023.
Bouchard played the final tournament of her professional tennis career at the 2025 National Bank Open in her hometown of Montreal. She made her professional pickleball debut on the PPA Tour in 2024.
