Patric Young

College Basketball Analyst

Patric Young joined ESPN in 2021 as a studio host and analyst for SEC Network’s college basketball coverage and now serves as a game and studio analyst for ESPN networks, including SEC Network. A former Florida standout and professional player, he also appears on The Field of 68.

Young played at Florida from 2010-14 under Billy Donovan, helping the Gators to the first 18-0 league record in SEC history and the 2014 Final Four. As a senior, he was the SEC Defensive Player of the Year and the NABC Pete Newell Big Man of the Year, and he became the first player in SEC history to win three SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year awards. He finished his career with 1,307 points and never missed a game.

After going undrafted in 2014, the Jacksonville native played professionally in Turkey, Greece and Italy, including with Galatasaray and EuroLeague’s Olympiacos, before moving into broadcasting.

In 2022, Young was paralyzed from the waist down in a car accident. Overcoming the odds, he returned to SEC Network studio coverage and is now a motivational speaker, the author of “Sit to Rise” and the leader of the PY4 Foundation, which supports people facing life-altering events.
