Today, ESPN announced its 2026-27 Inside the NBA regular season schedule, featuring 25 appearances across ESPN and ABC from Opening Week through the regular season finale.
The schedule includes weekly appearances throughout the season’s first four weeks, continued coverage throughout January and appearances surrounding many of ESPN and ABC’s marquee NBA game windows and events.
For ESPN’s Programming & Acquisitions team, consistency was a key priority when mapping out the show’s second season across ESPN and ABC.
”Our goal was to come out of the gates strong with more appearances in the first couple months of the season compared to last year, while maintaining a consistent presence around some of our biggest matchups in January and February,” said Dan Ochs (Sr. Director, Programming & Acquisitions).
That approach is reflected throughout the schedule. Following appearances during NBA Opening Week on October 21-22, the Inside the NBA team will be featured weekly throughout the season’s first month before continuing across ESPN and ABC’s coverage of NBA Christmas Day presented by State Farm, NBA Saturday Primetime on ABC, NBA Rivals Week and the regular season finale.
The schedule was designed to ensure fans regularly see commentators Ernie Johnson, Charles Barkley, Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith surrounding many of the league’s biggest games and storylines.
”Inside is a signature component of our NBA coverage,” Ochs said. “Surrounding the majority of our marquee regular season games and every NBA Playoffs game we air, it’s a true differentiator in our presentation of the league.”
The Inside the NBA team continues to play a central role in ESPN and ABC’s NBA coverage, providing pregame, halftime and postgame analysis throughout the season.
From Opening Week through the regular season, NBA Playoffs and NBA Finals, fans can expect the same candid conversations, analysis and entertainment that have made Inside the NBA one of the most celebrated studio shows in sports.
