If you were a women’s soccer fan last Sunday, Nov. 1, you had every reason to be glued to your screen. NWSL Decision Day lived up to every bit of its name — Shield race drama, MVP intrigue, playoff positioning on the line and record pursuits all colliding in a single afternoon. And ESPN made sure you didn’t miss a second of it.

As part of its expanded Women’s Sports Sundays franchise, ESPN aired all eight matches simultaneously. The marquee matchup — NJ/NY Gotham FC vs. Utah Royals FC — aired on ESPN and ESPN Deportes, with commentators  Jenn Hildreth and  Lianne Sanderson  calling the action. The remaining seven matches streamed on ESPN+, while ESPN2 delivered a live whiparound show hosted by analysts  Ali Krieger and  Kelsey Riggs Cuff — keeping fans looped in on the biggest moments across the league in real time.

The whiparound show also featured some serious star power, with guest appearances from Portland Thorns midfielder Olivia Moultrie, NWSL legends Megan Rapinoe and Heather O’Reilly, and USWNT icon Julie Foudy.

For ESPN, this wasn’t just about airing games. It was about owning the moment.

“Having all eight matches across ESPN platforms allows us to truly own Decision Day as a tentpole moment for the league,” said ESPN Programming Manager Policarpo Rodriguez. “It gives us the opportunity to bring the entire regular-season story together and deliver the final chapter of a journey we’ve been telling since March.”

The regular season may be over, but the stakes just got higher. NWSL Quarterfinals arrive Sunday, Nov. 8, with a doubleheader on ABC and ESPN Deportes. No. 1 Gotham FC hosts No. 8 Seattle Reign FC at 12:15 p.m. ET, followed by No. 3 Washington Spirit vs. No. 6 Portland Thorns FC at 3 p.m. ET. Both matches are also available on the ESPN App for unlimited subscribers.
