ESPN will provide comprehensive, multiplatform coverage of the 2026 Major League Baseball Trade Deadline on Monday, August 3, highlighted by a two-hour Baseball Tonight Trade Deadline Special from 4-6 p.m. ET on ESPN, leading into and through MLB’s 6 p.m. ET trade deadline. Coverage will continue with a second edition of Baseball Tonight at 7 p.m. on ESPN.

Kevin Connors will host the special from ESPN’s Bristol, Conn., studios alongside analysts Tim Kurkjian and Eduardo Pérez. MLB insiders Jeff Passan and Buster Olney will provide the latest breaking news, reporting and analysis as teams across the league finalize their rosters for the stretch run.

ESPN national MLB reporters Alden Gonzalez, Jorge Castillo and Jesse Rogers will also contribute throughout the special, providing updates and perspectives from around the league.

The two-hour program will include immediate reaction to the most significant trades, analysis of how the moves could impact the postseason race and an examination of the teams and players that shaped this year’s deadline.

ESPN.com Trade Deadline Coverage

ESPN.com will provide extensive coverage throughout the day, led by Passan, Olney and ESPN’s team of national MLB reporters and analysts. Coverage will include breaking news, trade grades, analysis of the biggest deals from David Schoenfield, Brad Doolittle and Kiley McDaniel, team-by-team takeaways and an assessment of the winners and losers from the deadline.

Additional reporting will examine how the day’s moves reshape the playoff picture and identify the players and teams to watch during the final months of the regular season.

Special editions of ESPN’s MLB podcasts, Sources Tell Jeff Passan, hosted by Jeff Passan, and the Baseball Tonight Podcast, hosted by Buster Olney, are also expected to provide additional reporting, analysis and reaction surrounding the deadline.

MLB Action Continues Monday Night

Following the Baseball Tonight Trade Deadline Special, ESPN will present the San Francisco Giants visiting the Texas Rangers at 8 p.m. ET from Globe Life Field in Arlington, Texas.

Fans can also stream a full slate of Monday night MLB games on the ESPN App through MLB.TV, including:

  • St. Louis Cardinals at New York Yankees, 7:05 p.m. ET

The Dodgers-Cubs matchup from Wrigley Field highlights the MLB.TV slate, while Giants-Rangers will air nationally on ESPN.
