ESPN’s industry-leading college football schedule launches in earnest Week 1 with a five-day lineup featuring 85 showdowns, including 15 games with at least one ranked team across ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network, ACC Network, ESPN+, ESPN Radio, NFL Network, SEC Network+ and Disney+. Action kicks off Thursday, Sept. 3, and continues through Labor Day Monday, Sept. 7.
ABC’s Week 1 lineup is highlighted by one of the season’s premier opening-week clashes as Clemson travels to No. 11 LSU for ABC Saturday Night Football Presented by Capital One on Saturday, Sept. 5, at 7:30 p.m. ET. The marquee matchup – Week 1’s 4K Game of the Week – will be called by Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Holly Rowe and Laura Rutledge, with Marc Kestecher, Kelly Stouffer and Ian Fitzsimmons on ESPN Radio. The 40th season of College GameDay Built by The Home Depot also kicks off from Baton Rouge on Saturday, with the premier pregame show’s 500th edition on the road from 9 a.m. – noon on ESPN, ESPNU, Disney+ and the ESPN App.
Earlier Saturday, East Carolina visits No. 13 Alabama at noon with Bob Wischusen, Louis Riddick and Stormy Buonantony on the call, before Baylor and Auburn battle in Atlanta for the Aflac Kickoff Game with Joe Tessitore, Jesse Palmer, Taylor McGregor announcing the action at 3:30 p.m. on ABC and Disney+. ABC’s slate concludes Sunday night with the Liberty Mutual Music City Kickoff between No. 24 Louisville and No. 9 Ole Miss, featuring Sean McDonough, Greg McElroy and Katie George on ABC and Mike Couzens, Max Starks and Marilyn Payne on ESPN Radio.
ESPN’s ranked-team slate opens Friday, Sept. 4, with No. 7 Miami at Stanford at 9 p.m., featuring Mike Monaco, Jordan Rodgers and Dana Boyle. The all-ACC clash will feature a Command Center on ACC Network. Saturday’s action includes Oregon State at No. 23 Houston at noon on ESPN and Disney+ with Anish Shroff, Andre Ware and Morgan Uber; Texas State at No. 5 Texas at 3:30 p.m. with Roy Philpott, Brock Osweiler and Sherree Burruss; and Missouri State at No. 8 Texas A&M at 7 p.m. with Lowell Galindo, Kirk Morrison and Dawn Davenport. Week 1 concludes Monday, Sept. 7, with No. 19 SMU at Florida State at 7:30 p.m., called by Dave Pasch, Dusty Dvoracek and Taylor McGregor with a Command Center viewing option on ACC Network. ESPN’s Week 1 action kicks off Thursday night with Colorado at Georgia Tech at 8 p.m. with Matt Barrie, Chase Daniel and Paul Carcaterra announcing the action.
Additional games featuring ranked teams begin Thursday, Sept. 3, with Arkansas-Pine Bluff at No. 25 Missouri at 8 p.m. on SEC Network, called by Chuckie Kempf, Dustin Fox and Marilyn Payne, followed by Idaho at No. 21 Utah at 9 p.m. on ESPNU with Peter Sousa and Leger Douzable. On Friday, UTEP visits No. 10 Oklahoma at 8 p.m. on SEC Network+, featuring Ted Emrich, Fozzy Whittaker and Maria Martin. Saturday’s lineup includes Tennessee State at No. 3 Georgia at 3 p.m. on SEC Network+ with Clay Matvick, Rocky Boiman and Laura Stickells; Furman at No. 20 Tennessee at 3:30 p.m. on SEC Network+ with Richard Cross, Max Starks and Ashlyn Sullivan; and Utah Tech at No. 14 BYU at 8 p.m. on ESPN+ with Peter Sousa, Leger Douzable and Austyn Iven.
