The PGA TOUR FedExCup Playoffs get underway this week with the FedEx St. Jude Championship, and ESPN is expanding its coverage, bringing the TOUR’s postseason to ESPN’s primary linear channel for the first time. ESPN presents a two-hour window across the first and second rounds of all three playoff events— totaling 12 hours of playoff action airing across three weeks in August — beginning Thursday, Aug. 13, and Friday, Aug. 14, from 9–11 a.m. ET.
Complementing the linear windows, PGA TOUR LIVE on the ESPN App delivers more than 100 hours of coverage on PGA TOUR LIVE throughout the Playoffs — continuing its four streams throughout the action, including a main feed — all starting at TPC Southwind in Memphis, beginning Thursday at 8 a.m. ET.
Scheffler, McIlroy pairing featured during ESPN’s linear window on Thursday
ESPN’s primary linear channel carries live coverage of the FedEx St. Jude Championship on Thursday and Friday from 9–11 a.m., the first of six two-hour ESPN linear windows across the FedExCup Playoffs.
The must-see pairing of Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy — World No. 1 and 2, respectively, paired together for the first time in any tournament this year — headlines Thursday morning’s coverage on ESPN. Defending FedExCup Champion Tommy Fleetwood and three-time major winner Jordan Spieth, as well as multi-time TOUR winners Tom Kim and Ludvig Aberg will also be spotlighted.
Fans can also watch a sample of Thursday’s PGA TOUR LIVE coverage @ESPN on X during a live simulcast at approximately 9:30 a.m., including the first tee shots from Scheffler and McIlroy. This will be the first of four simulcast windows available throughout the Playoffs, with details for the BMW Championship and TOUR Championship announced in the coming weeks.
Friday’s Featured Groups coverage on ESPN features a star-studded lineup as well, including major champions Justin Rose, Shane Lowry, Wyndham Clark and Matt Fitzpatrick and PGA TOUR winners Max Homa, Min Woo Lee, Chris Gotterup and Michael Brennan, who punched his ticket to the Playoffs with a win at last week’s Wyndham Championship.
Michael Eaves hosts ESPN’s linear FedExCup Playoffs coverage
Signature ESPN anchor Michael Eaves serves as host for all the network’s linear coverage, guiding fans through the action at TPC Southwind and setting the stage for the postseason race. Eaves continues in the host role for the early rounds at the BMW Championship (Aug. 20–21) and culminating with the TOUR Championship (Aug. 27–28).
Fans can expect enhanced production elements during ESPN’s windows, including extra cameras and drones, enhanced player audio, and 3D hole and course modeling from PGA TOUR Studios.
