ESPN’s College GameDay Built by The Home Depot will air live from the University of Alabama on Saturday, Oct. 10 ahead of a showdown between SEC heavyweights No. 2 Georgia and No. 6 Alabama. Due to expected inclement weather, the show will originate from inside the Coleman Coliseum on the University of Alabama’s campus. The show airs from 9 a.m. – noon ET on ESPN, ESPNU, Disney+ and the ESPN App, with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.

Fans and students may begin lining up at 5:15 a.m. CT, with doors opening at 5:30 a.m. CT. Camping is not permitted, and attendees may enter Coleman Coliseum only through the east and north entrances. Raffle tickets for Pat McAfee’s “Kicking is Easy” Contest will be distributed evenly at both entrances.

Alabama will host College GameDay for the 22nd time, second all-time behind only Ohio State (26). It marks Alabama’s 65th appearance on the show and Georgia’s 43rd, both ranking among the top four all-time in program history. Saturday’s matchup will be the 13th time Georgia and Alabama serve as the featured GameDay matchup, tied for the most-featured pairing in program history alongside Ohio State–Penn State and Alabama–LSU.

Announced Thursday on The Pat McAfee Show, Carolina Panthers quarterback and the NFL’s leading passing through the first four weeks of the 2026 season Bryce Young will serve as this week’s celebrity guest picker. Young, an Alabama standout quarterback, Heisman Trophy winner, and No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, will join his former coach Nick Saban on the GameDay desk.

Rece Davis returns as host and is joined at the desk by analysts Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Saban. College football insider Pete Thamel, college football analyst “Stanford Steve” Coughlin and reporters Jen Lada and Jess Sims round out the GameDay cast for the 2026 college football season.

Coming off its most-watched season ever, College GameDay continues its record-setting 2026 campaign. Last week’s episode from Iowa City averaged 2.9 million viewers, the most-watched episode of the season so far, the most-watched October episode in show history and the third-best regular-season episode all time. The final hour drew 3.7 million viewers, up 215% over the competition. Through five weeks, the show is pacing 6% ahead of last season’s average and up 27% from two years ago, with three of the top-five regular-season episodes of all time airing in 2026.

Features

  • “Keelon Russell”: Arriving in Tuscaloosa from Duncanville, Texas, Keelon Russell was the highest-rated recruit in modern Alabama program history, surpassing previous stars like Bryce Young and Julio Jones. Desmond Howard sits down with the sophomore quarterback as Russell and the Crimson Tide prepare for their biggest test of the 2026 season. Desmond Howard reports.
  • “Dante Reno”: A day after his father’s death, Yale quarterback Dante Reno threw for 298 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs to a 41-24 win over Merrimack — an act of unimaginable courage honoring his father, Yale head coach Tony Reno, who guided the program to five Ivy League championships over 14 seasons before resigning earlier this year due to health concerns. Jen Lada reports.
  • The show’s return to Tuscaloosa arrives two days after the premiere of Saban, a six-part ESPN Original docuseries from ESPN and Words + Pictures debuting Thursday, Oct. 8, at 6 p.m. on ESPN. College GameDay will air an excerpt from Saban on Saturday, looking back on the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship Game and Saban’s pivotal halftime decision to bench Jalen Hurts in favor of freshman Tua Tagovailoa with Alabama trailing Georgia 13-0 — a moment that defined both players’ careers and Saban’s legacy. Along with an excerpt from the docuseries, Nick Saban will discuss Saban, while Jess Sims reports from Thursday’s red-carpet premiere in Tuscaloosa.

Pat McAfee’s “Kicking is Easy delivered by The Home Depot” contest
Pat McAfee’s “Kicking is Easy” contest, a fan-favorite segment, returns to College GameDay for its fourth season. Fans who arrive early will have a chance to be selected from the onsite pit and attempt a 33-yard field goal. Throughout his time on the show, McAfee and his contest have awarded more than $11 million through contest prizes and charitable donations. Full details, including official rules, can be found here.

Countdown to GameDay
Harry Douglas and Harry Lyles Jr. return for their fifth season as co-hosts of ESPN’s social and digital pre-pregame show, Countdown to GameDay, with Sims joining the duo this season as a co-host, reporting live from the College GameDay site each week. The show is available weekly at 8:20 a.m. across ESPN on YouTube, Facebook and the ESPN App.
