ESPN’s Week 3 college football schedule features a dozen AP Top 25 teams across ESPN networks, led by a top 10 SEC rivalry in primetime. No. 7 LSU visits No. 8 Ole Miss on ABC Saturday Night Football Presented by Capital One at 7:30 p.m. ET, the first meeting between the programs as top 10 teams since 1962 and LSU head coach Lane Kiffin’s return to Ole Miss. Chris Fowler, Kirk Herbstreit, Holly Rowe and Laura Rutledge will call the Magnolia Bowl battle – this week’s 4K Game of the Week – which is set for Oxford for a second straight season.
ABC’s Saturday SEC All Day tripleheader begins at noon with No. 2 Georgia at Arkansas, called by Dave Pasch, Dusty Dvoracek and Taylor McGregor. At 3:30 p.m., Florida State visits No. 10 Alabama, with Sean McDonough, Greg McElroy and Katie George on the mic.
ESPN has a full slate of games in Week 3, headlined by No. 5 Miami at Wake Forest on Friday at 7:30 p.m., featuring Mike Monaco, Jordan Rodgers and Dana Boyle announcing the ACC action. No. 9 Texas A&M plays host to Kentucky at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN and Disney+, with Joe Tessitore, Jesse Palmer and Kris Budden on the call. In primetime, Tom Hart, Roddy Jones and Quint Kessenich have the call of Florida at Auburn at 7 p.m. on ESPN, with ESPN Radio’s top team of Marc Kestecher, Kelly Stouffer and Ian Fitzsimmons on the radio broadcast. In late night on ESPN is a clash between two former FCS squads now in their first seasons in FBS, as North Dakota State takes on Sacramento State at 10:30 p.m. Lowell Galindo, Kirk Morrison and Dawn Davenport will announce the action.
ESPN2 presents a ranked ACC matchup at 3:30 p.m. as No. 16 SMU visits No. 23 Louisville. Roy Philpott, Brock Osweiler and Sherree Burruss will call the television presentation, while Mike Couzens, Freddie Coleman and Mike Peasley have the call on ESPN Radio. At 7:30 p.m., New Mexico visits No. 24 Oklahoma, called by Jay Alter, Tom Luginbill and Lauren Sisler. Starting the day on ESPN2 is Tulane at Kansas State at noon, with Anish Shroff, Andre Ware and Morgan Uber announcing the action.
ESPN’s college networks feature a pair of ranked squads in primetime. SEC Network showcases Kennesaw State at No. 15 Tennessee at 7:45 p.m., with Dave Neal, Cole Cubelic and Ashley Stroehlein on the call. ACC Network features the neutral-site Duke’s Mayo Classic at 7:30 p.m., with West Virginia facing No. 25 Virginia at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. Wes Durham, Max Browne and Madison Fitzpatrick will call the Mayo matchup.
SEC Network+ will stream Troy at No. 20 Missouri at 7 p.m., called by Kevin Fitzgerald and Charles Arbuckle, followed by UTSA at No. 1 Texas at 8 p.m., with Clay Matvick, Rocky Boiman and Austyn Iven. In addition to the Duke’s Mayo Classic, another neutral site game is set for ESPN+ as Miami (Ohio) and Cincinnati face off in the ‘Battle for the Victory Bell’ at TQL Stadium at 3:30 p.m. The longstanding rivalry, which dates to 1888, will stage the first football – though not fútbol – game played at TQL Stadium. Peter Sousa, Leger Douzable and Sydney Jones will call the rivalry game.
Extra Yard for Teachers
The College Football Playoff Foundation’s Extra Yard for Teachers and ESPN’s Take Back Sports have kicked off Extra Yard for Teachers Week, with celebrations running from Saturday, Sept. 12 through Saturday, Sept. 19. As in years past, ESPN will celebrate educators across its programming with on-air and social content, encouraging viewers to nominate outstanding teachers at CFP-Foundation.org. ESPN commentators will also distribute DonorsChoose gift cards to deserving educators and College GameDay Built by The Home Depot will spotlight teachers during its Week 3 show at Ole Miss.
