Alyssa Roenigk is an author, broadcast journalist, podcast host and senior writer for ESPN.  She has covered 10 Olympics, multiple Super Bowls, Grand Slam tennis tournaments, World Cup soccer and more than 20 X Games.

Roenigk, who joined ESPN in 2003, has had her work appear in cover stories for ESPN The Magazine, on ESPN.com and espnW, and on SportsCenterX Games telecasts and Outside The Lines.

For five years, Roenigk worked as a TV reporter for X Games broadcasts and the Global RallyCross series. She also hosted several action sports shows and reported and hosted the 30 for 30 investigative podcast series Heavy Medals, which was released in 2020. Roenigk regularly serves as a guest on panels speaking on topics ranging from women in sports journalism to emerging audiences in sports. In 2006 she published her first book, The Tao of Travis Pastrana, with ESPN Books.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pa. and Cape Coral, Fla., Roenigk attended the University of Florida, where she earned a bachelor of arts in journalism. Despite a career she loves, she still laments her failed stint as a circus clown, at age 5, with the Flying Wilendas.
