Vice President, Content Strategy & Audio

Amanda Gifford joined ESPN in 2004 and was promoted to Vice President, Content Strategy & Audio, in February of 2021. For the audio responsibilities, her areas of oversight include the 24/7 talk radio network and the 300+ radio events per year, including the robust portfolio of championship events such as the MLB playoffs, NBA playoffs and CFB Championship. In addition, Gifford is involved in content strategy and planning for ESPN TV studio shows, and she co-leads the Universal Coverage Group which includes the bureau reporters, producers and assignment desk. Finally, she oversees the Talent Production Group, the group of producers who secure outside talent for any ESPN platform, event or campaign.

Gifford started her career as an intern at the ESPN Radio Network. She spent 12 years in the radio group, including five years as producer of The Herd with Colin Cowherd. She worked her way up to oversee night and weekend programming and eventually had complete oversight of the 6 a.m. – 7 p.m. talk programming lineup, which included Mike and MikeThe Herd with Colin CowherdSVP and Russillo and The Dan LeBatard Show with Stugotz.

In 2016, Gifford joined the ESPN Talent Office. There, she worked with a team to negotiate deals, succession plan and recruit ESPN Talent. Gifford moved to her next opportunity in January 2019, overseeing the talent production group and working in content strategy and planning for SportsCenter and ESPN studio shows. In December 2019, Gifford added the ESPN Radio network to her portfolio.

Originally from the Finger Lakes area of western New York, Gifford is a Penn State graduate with a bachelor of science in elementary education and a bachelor of arts in journalism.
