Chara-Lynn Aguiar is executive vice president, finance, research, strategy and office of the chairman for ESPN, a position she was promoted to in October of 2023.

The change aligns Finance with Strategy and Research across the entirety of ESPN’s business, creating even greater collaboration across these critical functions.

In addition to her role with finance, Aguiar and team oversee integrated strategy and research efforts working across the entirety of ESPN’s business and she serves as an advisor to the chairman and his leadership team. Aguiar is also a key liaison to teams across The Walt Disney Company. She is based in New York City.

Aguiar began her career at ABC in 2009 as a research analyst before transitioning in 2011 to the global distribution strategy group for Disney & ESPN Media Networks. She then worked at YouTube in Content Partnerships and at Fox Sports as Vice President, Strategy and Content before returning to ESPN in March 2018.

A Daly City, Calif., native, Aguiar graduated from UCLA with a bachelor’s degree in economics and international area studies.
