Field Yates is an NFL Insider for ESPN who contributes analysis, breaking NFL news and fantasy football insight year-round across the company’s multimedia platforms. He appears on many shows, in addition to his host role on ESPN Radio and on ESPN Audio’s popular Fantasy Focus Football podcast.
Yates, who joined ESPN in 2012, is a regular contributor to NFL Live, SportsCenter, The Fantasy Show with Matthew Berry on ESPN+ and more throughout the year. He is also a co-host of the Fantasy Focus Football podcast with Matthew Berry, Stephania Bell and Daniel Dopp, which began streaming live weekdays on Twitter in August 2018.
On football Sundays, Yates is part of the cast of the three-hour Fantasy Football Now pregame show (10 a.m. ET, ESPN2) with Berry, Bell, Tim Hasselbeck and Molly Qerim Rose. In addition, he co-hosts a pair of ESPN Radio shows – Operation Football with Randy Scott and Andrew Hawkins (1 p.m.) and Football Friendzy with Rachel Lindsay and Bobby Carpenter (5 p.m.).
Yates, who is part of ESPN’s annual NFL Draft and Fantasy Football Marathon coverage, has written for the Insider pages of ESPN.com and ESPN Boston.
Prior to ESPN, Yates spent two seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and interned for four summers with the New England Patriots front office. During his time in Kansas City, he worked on both the scouting and coaching staffs, and split his four summers in New England with coaching and scouting duties as well.
Yates previously contributed to a number of sites as a football writer and he authored a blog entitled Thoughts from the Field.
A native of Weston, Mass., Yates attended Wesleyan University, where he earned a bachelor of arts in psychology.
