NFL Nation Reporter: Denver Broncos

Jeff Legwold joined ESPN in August of 2013. A senior writer who covers the Denver Broncos and the NFL for ESPN.com’s NFL Nation, he also appears on SportsCenter and NFL Live.

Legwold has covered the NFL for more than 35 years and attended his first NFL Scouting Combine in 1987. He has covered the Broncos since 2004, including stints at the Rocky Mountain News – the paper closed in 2009 – and The Denver Post. He has previously covered the Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills and Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans.

Also previously in his career Legwold has written on a variety of topics including Big Ten football and basketball, preps coverage and on an assignment once played a half with the Washington Generals against the Harlem Globetrotters, which remains a career highlight.

Legwold served as President of the Pro Football Writers of America from 2015-17, and he is a current member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Board of Selectors (since 1999) and Seniors Selection Committee (since 2013). Legwold was also one of 15 media members on the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Blue Ribbon panel that helped select the Hall’s Centennial class to celebrate the NFL’s 100th anniversary. The panel also included current and former coaches as well as current and former team executives, including Bill Belichick, Ozzie Newsome, Dick LeBeau and Bill Polian.

Legwold graduated from the University of Illinois in 1985 with a degree in journalism.
