Jeremy Woo

NBA Draft Analyst
Jeremy Woo joined ESPN in 2023 as an NBA Draft analyst and reporter. Known for his thoughtful approach and keen curiosity, Woo’s professional journey has taken him from small-town gyms to global arenas crafting stories about rising stars in the game.
Woo primarily covers the NBA Draft and rising prospects from high school, college, and international leagues, working closely with ESPN’s Jonathan Givony to produce mock drafts, prospect rankings, and scouting analysis. In addition to player evaluation, Woo brings a deep understanding of team strategy and personnel trends across the NBA.
Before joining ESPN, Woo spent nearly a decade at Sports Illustrated, where he built up the outlet’s NBA Draft coverage and became one of the industry’s most trusted voices in evaluating young talent. His work at SI included both day-to-day analysis and longform features, such as a 2019 profile of Ja Morant at Murray State, and a 2022 cover story on Victor Wembanyama, reported from Paris.
His journalism experience includes work on several acclaimed projects. He was a contributor to the Emmy-nominated basketball documentary Shot in the Dark (2018), which chronicled the lives of high school basketball players in Chicago. He also collaborated on Kobe Bryant’s New York Times best-seller The Mamba Mentality: How I Play, offering insights into the mindset and career of the NBA legend. Earlier in his career, Woo traveled to Russia on assignment for Grantland, profiling CSKA Moscow’s professional basketball club.
Originally from Chicago, Woo earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism in 2015.
Outside of basketball, Woo is an avid music fan and vinyl record collector.
