Ernesto Jerez

Play-by-Play Commentator, ESPN Deportes and ESPN in Latin America
Best known for his signature home run call “¡no… nono, nono, no…! ¡Dígale que no a esa pelota!”, Ernesto Jerez, a Emmy-award winning broadcast journalist, is the play-by-play commentator for ESPN Deportes’ Sunday Night Baseball telecasts, a position he has held since 1995. Jerez has called thousands of games for ESPN, including every Major League Baseball All-Star Game since 1997, every World Series since 1998 and ESPN Deportes’ coverage of World Baseball Classic in 2006, 2009, 2013 and 2017.
In 2021, he was among the finalists for the Baseball Hall of Fame’s Ford C. Frick Award, presented annually for excellence in baseball broadcasting by the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
In addition to MLB duties, Jerez serves as the voice for the network’s telecast of winter baseball, the Caribbean Series. He is also the play-by-play commentator for ESPN’s Spanish-language broadcast of the NBA for in the U.S. and Latin America.
Jerez attended Pontificia Universidad Cátolica Madre in the Dominican Republic, graduating in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in business. In 1995, he graduated from the Northeast Broadcast School, currently the Massachusetts School of Communications, in Boston.
