Jerry McGinn joined ESPN as a football rules analyst in 2025. He offers viewers expert insight into officiating decisions and game mechanics.
With over 25 years as a Division I college football official, McGinn served as a crew chief for both the Big East and Big Ten Conferences, working championship games and every major BCS bowl. He also served as the Big Ten’s coordinator of officials, overseeing training, development and evaluation of crews across one of the sport’s premier conferences.
A graduate of Lycoming College and former football standout, McGinn is also active in civic organizations like the Travis Manion Foundation. He lives in Pennsylvania with his wife and enjoys golf and travel.
