José Morales

Vice President & Executive Producer, Original Content
José Morales has been with ESPN since 2004 and currently serves as Vice President & Executive Producer, Original Content, overseeing ESPN Features and E60. In this role, he leads the strategic planning and direction of feature content across multiple ESPN platforms, including the network’s award-winning newsmagazine program, E60, which he began overseeing in January 2025.
Morales joined ESPN in January of 2004 as associate producer in studio production, where he produced features for SportsCenter and College Gameday. In 2007, he was promoted to Feature Producer and began producing studio and event features, teases, documentaries and other pieces of original content, for a wide variety of shows and sports.
In 2011, he was promoted to senior producer and joined the ESPN Features management team that oversaw 500 plus elements of original content for a variety of ESPN platforms. At the time, he maintained a dual role as a producer and continued to field produce long form content.
In 2013, Morales transitioned to coordinating producer and maintained the roles he previously held as a senior producer. With his promotion in 2019 to Senior Coordinating Producer, he assumed full day-to-day oversight of the Features Unit.
Morales has won numerous awards including Sports Emmys and Edward R. Murrow Awards most notably winning the Murrow for “Best News Documentary” in 2013 for the SC Featured film “Carry On.”
He is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and has a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences.
