Lauren Reynolds

Vice President, Executive Editor

Lauren Reynolds was named Vice President, Executive Editor of ESPN Digital in May 2021. Reynolds is responsible for setting ESPN’s editorial direction across digital platforms. She oversees the reporters, analysts and editors charged with daily content creation, newsgathering and analysis for all professional leagues, college sports, combat sports, fantasy, gambling and premium content.

Reynolds’ leadership across content, resource alignment and her team’s career development has helped propel ESPN to an unprecedented industry-wide run at the top of the digital sports category. Under Reynolds’ strong and strategic guidance, ESPN aligned men’s and women’s coverage along sport verticals, allowing for better deployment of reporting resources and more robust coverage of women’s sports.

Reynolds joined ESPN in 2005 as an associate editor on the copy desk. Since then she has held roles of increasing responsibility across ESPN’s digital properties. She was ESPN’s first female college football editor, helped launch ESPN Rise and RecruitingNation and worked at the intersection of product and content on ESPN’s Personalization and Live Content teams. In 2017, she was tapped to lead ESPN’s NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and Colleges content teams. After originally assuming the role of executive editor in 2019, Reynolds’ portfolio has expanded to include oversight of combat sports, fantasy, gambling, soccer, Olympics and the expansion of ESPN+ editorial coverage.

Reynolds works in close coordination with content leaders across ESPN, the product and technology teams at The Walt Disney Company, and sales and business development teams on revenue-driving sponsorship opportunities and third-party partnerships. In addition, Reynolds serves on ESPN’s Editorial Board, a company-wide, cross-disciplinary team of leaders who guide and inform editorial standards of conduct.

Prior to ESPN, Reynolds began her journalism career with the North Carolina-based newspaper The Globe, as the sports editor before being promoted to managing editor.

Reynolds, originally from Yonkers, N.Y., graduated from Hamilton College with a Bachelor of Arts in history. While at Hamilton, Reynolds was the sports editor of the school’s newspaper, The Spectator, and played basketball and lacrosse.
