Luis García

Luis García is a soccer analyst for ESPN, contributing regularly to ESPN FC, the network’s daily soccer program, as well as ESPN’s digital and social media platforms. He provides expert analysis across ESPN’s soccer coverage, including pitch-side commentary for key LaLiga matches and other major events.​ 

Since joining ESPN in 2021, following guest appearances on ESPN FC, García has established himself as a prominent voice in soccer analysis. He brings a wealth of experience from his professional playing career, offering tactical insight and global football experience.  

García enjoyed a 17-year professional playing career across top clubs and leagues around the world. A product of FC Barcelona’s La Masía academy, he went on to play for Barcelona, Atlético Madrid, and Liverpool FC, among others. At Liverpool, he became a fan favorite and was instrumental in the club’s 2004–2005 UEFA Champions League title, as well as wins in the FA Cup and UEFA Super Cup. He also had spells in Greece, Mexico, India, and Australia before retiring in 2016. Internationally, he earned 20 caps with Spain and represented his country at the 2006 FIFA World Cup. 

Born in Badalona, Spain, García is fluent in Spanish and English, and currently resides in Madrid.
