Mario Suárez is a soccer analyst for ESPN, contributing regularly to ESPN FC, the network’s daily soccer program, as well as ESPN’s digital and social media platforms. He provides expert analysis across ESPN’s soccer coverage, including pitch-side commentary for key FA Cup matches and other major events.​ 

Suárez joined ESPN in 2024, bringing a wealth of experience from his professional playing career, during which he amassed over 400 club appearances. A defensive midfielder known for his physicality and tactical discipline, Suárez rose through the ranks of Atlético Madrid’s youth system and made his first-team debut in 2005.  

He played a pivotal role in Atlético de Madrid’s success, helping the club win La Liga in 2013–14, the Copa del Rey in 2012–13, and two UEFA Europa League titles. His career also included stints with Fiorentina, Watford, Valencia, and Rayo Vallecano. Internationally, Suárez earned three caps with the Spanish national team between 2013 and 2015.​
