Matt Schumacker is a seasoned play-by-play announcer who joined ESPN in a full-time capacity in August 2024. He has called a variety of sports over his career, including football, basketball, baseball, softball, track and field, swimming, volleyball and soccer.

Prior to joining ESPN, Schumacker worked with FOX Sports and Big Ten Network between 2021-24, where he was a primary voice on Big Ten and Big East College Basketball. Schumacker got his start in the business doing local radio play-by-play for various Minor League Baseball clubs around the country and serving as a sideline reporter for the Big East Digital Network.

Schumacker, a St. Louis native, attended St. Louis University High School and later Butler University where he competed in track and field and studied broadcast journalism. He and his wife, Molly, have two kids, Bella and James.
