Michael C. Wright is a writer and reporter for ESPN, covering Victor Wembanyama, the San Antonio Spurs, and the NBA’s Western Conference. He contributes across all of ESPN’s platforms.

Wright originally joined ESPN in 2010, covering the NFL and later the NBA, with reporting assignments that included the Chicago Bears, San Antonio Spurs, and broader league coverage. He remained with the company through 2019. From 2019 to 2024, he served as a senior national writer for NBA.com and NBA TV before returning to ESPN to resume NBA coverage with a focus on the Western Conference.

Prior to ESPN, Wright reported on the NFL for regional newspapers, covering the Washington Redskins for the Daily Press (2004–2006) and the Jacksonville Jaguars for the Florida Times-Union (2006–2010).

A native of Wichita Falls, Texas, he earned a journalism degree from West Texas A&M and remains active in the journalism community through his involvement with the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and the Asian American Journalists Association (AAJA). He is a Pro Football Writers Association award winner for NFL feature writing.

In his free time, Wright enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, working out, and volunteering with youth football organizations in Texas.
