Senior Vice President, Sports Studio & Entertainment
Mike Foss, who joined ESPN in 2017, was named senior vice president, sport studio & entertainment in August of 2024, after having been promoted to senior vice president, production, in September of 2023. He had been vice president, studio and digital production, since June of 2023. In his role, he has oversight of ESPN studio shows which include all SportsCenter editions, Get Up, First Take, close collaboration with The Pat McAfee Show, Pardon The Interruption, ESPN Bet & Fantasy studio shows. In addition to studio shows, Foss manages ESPN’s CCU and SCEU unit and oversees ESPN Radio & podcasts.
In his previous role, Foss oversaw video production, content creation and development across all ESPN digital channels. This included responsibility for studio/show production and streaming on Twitter, Snapchat, Facebook, YouTube, and the ESPN App.
Foss came to ESPN from Fox Sports where he was a vice president and developed content strategy designed to increase audience reach and engagement for FOXSports.com on mobile and social platforms. His first position at ESPN was director, YouTube, and he launched ESPN’s YouTube channels and oversaw their production and strategy. In 2019, he was promoted to senior director, digital and social video, overseeing video production, content creation and development across all ESPN digital channels.
A 2010 graduate of George Mason University with a bachelor of arts degree in communications, he joined USA TODAY directly after college as an online producer. A year later, he was promoted to senior editor. In 2012, he founded the social news website “For the Win” at USA TODAY and served as managing editor. He moved to Fox Sports in 2015. That year, he was named to Forbes Magazine‘s “30 Under 30” list.
In April of 2025, Foss was named to the Sports Business Journal “Forty Under 40” Class of 2025.
