Mike Golic Sr. returned to ESPN in August 2026 as co-host of The Golics alongside his son, Mike Golic Jr. The show airs weekdays from 10 a.m.–noon ET on ESPN Radio and is simulcast live on the ESPN App, with episodes available on major podcast platforms following each broadcast. In addition to hosting the show, Golic makes appearances across ESPN.
One of ESPN’s most recognizable radio personalities, Golic previously spent 25 years with the company from 1995–2020. He co-hosted the iconic Mike & Mike with Mike Greenberg for nearly 18 years before teaming with Trey Wingo and Golic Jr. on Golic and Wingo, which launched Nov. 27, 2017, and aired through July 2020.
Golic and Greenberg launched Mike & Mike in the Morning on Jan. 3, 2000, pairing Golic’s perspective as a former NFL player with Greenberg’s sports fan persona. The show became a cornerstone of ESPN Radio’s lineup before concluding Nov. 17, 2017. Together, the hosts were inducted into the National Association of Broadcasters Broadcasting Hall of Fame in 2016 and the National Radio Hall of Fame in 2018.
During its run, Mike & Mike earned numerous industry honors, including a Sports Emmy in 2006 for achievement in content for nontraditional delivery and first place among full-time sports formats in Radio Ink’s Readers’ Choice Awards in 2007. Their co-written book, Mike & Mike’s Rules for Sports and Life, reached No. 3 on The New York Times Best Sellers list in 2010.
Golic joined ESPN in 1995 as an NFL studio analyst on NFL 2Night and later contributed to NFL Live, which debuted in 2003. His ESPN assignments also included college football analysis, Arena Football League coverage and appearances across studio programming. In 2020, he returned to the college football booth with a regular Saturday game assignment.
In 2026, Golic also joined the SoFi Notre Dame Radio Network as a football analyst.
An eight-year NFL veteran, Golic played defensive tackle for the Houston Oilers, Philadelphia Eagles and Miami Dolphins. While playing in Philadelphia, he began his television career with a weekly segment on The Randall Cunningham Show, earning a Mid-Atlantic Region Emmy Award for his feature “Golic’s Got It.”
Beyond his broadcasting honors, Golic was named the 2018 Walter Camp Man of the Year and was part of the inaugural St. Joseph’s High School (Ohio) Hall of Champions class in 2015. He was also honored by the National Wrestling Hall of Fame as an Outstanding American in 2015.
Golic is a 1985 graduate of the University of Notre Dame.
