Nate Taylor

Nate Taylor has worked in the Kansas City market and covered the Chiefs since 2018. In July 2025, Taylor joined ESPN as the Kansas City Chiefs NFL Nation beat reporter.
Prior to ESPN, Taylor was a staff writer for The Athletic. He was the 2022 winner of the Bob Oates beat reporting award from the Pro Football Writers of America (PFWA).
With 15 years of reporting experience, Taylor has covered multiple Super Bowls and other major events, such as the NBA Finals, the NCAA Tournament and the US Open. He has also written extensively on the history of the Negro Leagues and its national museum. His work has appeared in The New York Times, The Indianapolis Star and The Boston Globe.
A Kansas City native, Taylor is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists, the Sports Journalism Institute and the PFWA. He graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a bachelor’s degree in journalism. He and Holly, his wife, have two children, Hayden and Noah.
