P.J. Carlesimo

NBA Studio Analyst, ESPN Radio Game Analyst
Veteran NBA head coach P.J. Carlesimo returned to ESPN as a studio analyst prior to the NBA Playoffs in 2013. Carlesimo regularly contributes to SportsCenter, NBA Coast to Coast, NBA Tonight and additional news and information programming. Carlesimo also provides commentary for select NBA games on ESPN Radio throughout the regular and post-season, partnering with Marc Kestecher.
Carlesimo has 39 years of basketball coaching experience, most recently as the head coach of the Brooklyn Nets, whom he led to the 2013 NBA Playoffs. His made his NBA coaching debut with the Portland Trail Blazers in 1994, leading the team to a winning record and the NBA Playoffs in his first season. After four seasons in Portland, Carlesimo was named head coach of the Golden State Warriors (1997-99).
In 2002, Carlesimo joined the coaching staff of San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich, where he earned three NBA Championships (2003, 2005, 2007). His career also includes time with the Seattle SuperSonics, Oklahoma Thunder and as an assistant coach with the Toronto Raptors.
He was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame as part of the 1992 U.S. Men’s Basketball team (assistant coach) and has previously worked as an analyst for NBC Sports, Turner Sports and Spurs Television.
