Rubens Pozzi

ESPN Brazil
A seasoned and versatile sports journalist, Rubens Pozzi joined ESPN Brazil in 2000 after stints at regional and national sports media organizations including Radio Parana, O Estado do Parana and TV Globo.
With an undergraduate degree in journalism, Pozzi has covered major sporting events for ESPN Brazil at home and abroad, including the 2000 Sydney Olympics, The Masters (tennis), X Games and the 2012 NBA Finals.
Last year, he was on location to London and was key to ESPN Brazil’s coverage of the 2012 London Olympics. His work there was subsequently recognized with one of Brazil’s top national sport journalism awards – Premio Joao Saldanha “Silver Goal” — by the of the Association of Sports Writers of Rio de Janeiro. The Association, founded in 1917 after the renown sports writer and former national men’s team soccer coach Joao Saldanha, created the awards in 2010 to recognize the best in sports journalism each year.
Rubens is fluent in Spanish and English, in addition to his native Portuguese.
