Stewart Robson, a former professional soccer player and current television pundit in England, served as a match analyst for ESPN’s production of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Robson, a native of Essex, England, served as England’s youth and U-21 captain. He began his 14-year-professional career with English Premier League club Arsenal at the age of 17 and made 150 appearances, scoring 15 goals over the course of five seasons (1981-1986) with the Gunners.   Often a fan favorite due to his work rate on the field, he was awarded the 1984 Player of the Year by Arsenal fans.

After leaving Arsenal, Robson continued his career with West Ham United (1986-1991), amassing 69 appearances. He also earned West Ham Player of the Year honors in 1988.  In 1991, he joined Coventry City, where he also garnered Player of the Year honors in 1992 and eventually retired from professional soccer in 1995.

Robson transitioned into a career in television, gaining experience with Arsenal TV, TalkSPORT, and served as analyst for the FA Cup international feed.  In 2013, Robson worked his first FIFA event, serving as the lead analyst alongside Ian Darke for ESPN’s production of the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup.  Darke and Robson called 16 matches, including the opening and final games. He is also a pundit on ESPN FC, ESPN’s daily soccer news and information program.
