Former Big Leaguer Xavier Scruggs is an ESPN baseball analyst, regularly contributing to Baseball Tonight. He provides game commentary for ESPN’s College World Series and Little League baseball and softball coverage, and has also served as an analyst for ESPN’s Major League Baseball telecasts, Monday Night Baseball and Wednesday Night Baseball.

Scruggs was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in 2008 and made his Major League debut with the team in 2014. He played for the St. Louis Cardinals and the Miami Marlins. Scruggs’ baseball career also included two seasons in the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO) with the NC Dinos, where hit 61 home runs and had 208 RBIs.

Scruggs hosted the first MLB player-to-player podcast, The Bigs, in 2021, which featured conversations with the game’s biggest stars about their career journeys. He also contributes to MLB Network.

He was originally drafted in 2005 and chose to play baseball at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Scruggs is originally from Whittier, California.
