Zach Kram is a national NBA writer for ESPN.com, where he covers the league through an analytical lens, using advanced metrics and statistical trends to evaluate player performance and examine broader shifts across the NBA. He joined ESPN in February 2025.

Prior to ESPN, Kram spent nearly nine years at The Ringer, a sports and pop culture media outlet. His work included in-person reporting from multiple NBA Finals, World Series, and the World Baseball Classic championship round. He also contributed as a researcher and co-writer to Binge Mode, an award-winning podcast series that explored major pop culture franchises like Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

A native of Brookeville, Md., Kram graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in psychology and minors in creative writing and history. He was named Journalist of the Year by the Missouri College Media Association for his work as editor-in-chief of the university’s student newspaper, Student Life.

Outside of work, he’s a Boston-qualified marathon runner and a lifelong fan of science fiction and fantasy stories.
