Flip Saunders Joins ESPN as NBA Studio Analyst

Veteran NBA head coach Flip Saunders has joined ESPN as an NBA studio analyst. As part of the multiyear agreement, Saunders will make regular appearances on a variety of ESPN studio shows, including SportsCenter, NBA Coast to Coast, NBA Tonight and other news and information programming. Saunders is scheduled to appear Wednesday, Oct. 31, during NBA Coast to Coast at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN and Thursday, Nov. 1, during the 9 a.m. SportsCenter on ESPN.

“I’m excited to have the opportunity to share the insights and perspective I gathered during my coaching career with NBA fans,” said Saunders. “I admire ESPN’s NBA coverage, and I’m glad to be part of the team.”

Saunders coached 16 NBA seasons, including 10 with the Minnesota Timberwolves, leading the team to eight postseason appearances. He also split six seasons with the Detroit Pistons and Washington Wizards. While in Detroit, Saunders led the team to a franchise best 64-18 record. In total, Saunders won 638 games, compiling a .548 winning percentage while reaching the Conference Finals four times. He also served as President of the Minnesota Timberwolves in 1995.

Prior to joining the NBA, Saunders spent seven seasons as a head coach in the CBA, where he won two CBA Championships with the La Crosse Catbirds. He was twice named CBA Coach of the Year.
