The 12 group stage matches of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013 on ESPN and ESPN2 were seen by an average audience of 485,000 viewers (382,000 household impressions), an increase of 26 percent in viewers and 21 percent in television homes compared to the 384,000 viewers (315,000 household impressions) who watched the group stage matches during South Africa 2009.
Saturday’s Italy vs. Brazil match, seen by an average of 933,000 viewers (729,000 household impressions) delivered the most-watched Confederations Cup Group Play match on an ESPN network, surpassing the previous high – USA vs. Italy (June 15, 2009 on ESPN), seen by an average of 801,000 viewers (703,000 household impressions), according to Nielsen.

Through the 2013 Confederations Cup group stage, ESPN FC across online and mobile platforms has averaged 7.4 million page views (up 67 percent compared to the group stage of Confederations Cup in 2009) and 17 million minutes per day (source: Adobe SiteCatalyst). The biggest growth has been on mobile, with the ESPN FC mobile Web averaging 612,000 daily visitors (up 406 percent), registering an average of 3.3 million page views (up 420 percent) and spending an average of 7.4 million minutes.
