ESPN to Televise SportsCenter Special: Exit Sandman on Career of Mariano Rivera

ESPN will televise SportsCenter Special: Exit Sandman about the career of New York Yankees closer Mariano Rivera on Friday, September 27, at 7 p.m. ET. Rivera’s legendary career will come to an end at the conclusion of the 2013 MLB season. The one-hour special will include insights and analysis from several ESPN MLB commentators, including Karl Ravech, Curt Schilling, John Kruk, Rick Sutcliffe, Aaron Boone (former Rivera teammate), Buster Olney and Tim Kurkjian.

The show will also feature an ESPN Sport Science segment on Rivera’s famed cutter, a look back at Rivera’s career in a segment called “Rivera by the Numbers,” and a discussion about who could be the next Rivera.
