ESPN to Provide Exclusive Coverage of 11 NCAA Winter Championships

Four-time Olympic Gold Medalist Missy Franklin Competes in Swimming & Diving Championship
ESPN’s exclusive coverage of 11 NCAA Winter Championships begins Friday, March 14, in Albuquerque, N.M., with the Men’s and Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championship live on ESPN3. Through March and into April, ESPN3 will have live coverage of the Men’s and Women’s Fencing Championship, Swimming and Diving Championship, and Women’s Gymnastics Championship. ESPNU will offer additional coverage of each event that airs live on ESPN3, in addition to airing the Women’s Bowling Championship live on Saturday, April 12.
ESPN also televises the entire NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship, Wrestling Championship, and Men’s Ice Hockey Championship live. Coverage details for those Championships will be announced at a later date. All 11 Championships are available on WatchESPN.
NCAA Men’s & Women’s Indoor Track and Field Championship – from Albuquerque, N.M.
Talent: Dwight Stones, Larry Rawson, and Jill Montgomery
What to Watch For:
- Men: Florida attempts to win their fourth title in last five years. Texas A&M and Arizona are in a position to challenge the Gators
- Women: Oregon competes for its fifth straight team title which would match LSU’s record streak (1993-1997). Florida, Texas A&M, Texas, Georgia, and Kentucky are also contenders for the team title.
NCAA Men’s and Women’s Fencing Championship – from Columbus, Ohio
Talent: JB Long, Don Anthony and Suzy Paxton
What to Watch For:
- Individual: Full coverage of both the men’s and women’s epee, foil, and saber events. (both men’s and women’s)
- Team: Host Ohio State strives for their second title in three years while defending champion Princeton attempts a repeat

Talent: Trey Bender, Rowdy Gaines, and Cynthia Potter
What to Watch For:
- Michigan (men) and Georgia (women) defend team titles
- Four-time Olympic Gold medalist Missy Franklin competes for California, one of six Olympic medalists to compete in the Women’s Championship
- Arizona junior Kevin Cordes, who holds NCAA records in 100 & 200 breaststrokes, is expected to compete
NCAA Women’s Bowling Championship – from Wickliffe, Ohio
Talent: Dave Armstrong and Carolyn Dorin-Ballard
What to Watch For:
- Defending National Champion Nebraska seeks their fifth National Championship since 2004
- The popular pin cameras return to provide viewers a unique camera angle
NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championship – from Birmingham, Ala
Talent: Bart Conner and Kathy Johnson Clarke
What to Watch For:
- Defending National Champion Florida is currently ranked number three in the country, behind LSU (No. 1) and Oklahoma (No. 2)
- The SEC has captured eight of the last nine championships
