ESPN Announces Sponsors for The 2014 ESPYS

Capital One Returns for the Third Year as Presenting Sponsor  

ESPN announced today the roster of sponsors for the 22nd annual ESPYS, presented by Capital One. This year’s show will be hosted by Drake, featuring an all-star lineup of celebrities and athletes to recognize and honor the most remarkable sports stories of the past year.  The award show will be televised live Wednesday, July 16, at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN from the Nokia Theatre at L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles.

In addition to returning as the presenting sponsor, Capital One will also serve as the presenter of the nomination show and ESPY voting, while also bringing a new photo angle to the red carpet, with the Capital One Quicksilver Cam.  Additionally, the Capital One Cup, which recognizes excellence in collegiate athletics, will be awarded at the ESPYS.

Returning associate sponsors include Gatorade, GMC, MillerCoors, which will be sampling Miller Fortune to guests, Nautica and Old Spice.  First-time associate sponsors include Brand Jordan, GREY GOOSE, serving guests exclusive first tastes of the newly launched GREY GOOSE Le Melon flavored vodka, as well as Verizon Fios. 

GMC will be the presenting sponsor of the BODY at ESPYS Tuesday night pre-party. Additionally, Miller Fortune will be the presenting sponsor of the official ESPYS Post Party.

The ESPYS Escape, an exclusive two-day gifting showcase and lounge will provide hosts, nominees, presenters and athletes with VIP experiences and gifts from sponsors including Carelle Luxury Jewelry, Disney, Gatorade, GREY GOOSE, Miller Fortune, Nautica, NuGo Nutrition, Old Spice, Stila, TOMS and Waraire Boswell.

Verizon Fios will be the presenting sponsor of the ESPYS Experience at L.A. Live, the official ESPYS pre-show fan celebration open to the public where guests can watch celebrities walk the red carpet during the live ESPYS Countdown Show. A surprise Billboard Top 10 artist will close the event from the Verizon Soundstage right before the show kicks off.

Some of the sponsorship benefits and hospitality opportunities include media components across many of ESPN’s platforms, such as ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN’s Mobile web site along with ESPN Radio and ESPN The Magazine. Sponsors also participate in the ESPYS Celebrity Golf Classic, which will be presented by Capital One benefitting the V Foundation for Cancer Research


The ESPYS gather top celebrities from sports and entertainment to commemorate the past year in sports by recognizing major sports achievements, reliving unforgettable moments and saluting the leading performers and performances. The 2014 ESPYS will recognize both sport-specific achievements, such as “Best MLB Player” and “Best WNBA Player,” and best-in-sport winners, such as “Best Team” or “Best Female Athlete” that pit nominees from different sports against each other.  The ESPYS honor ESPN’s commitment to The V Foundation for Cancer Research, a partnership launched with the late Jim Valvano at the inaugural ESPYS in 1993.
