Multiplatform Wild Card Coverage across ESPN Deportes, ESPN International & ESPN Audio
For the first time, ESPN will exclusively televise Major League Baseball’s National League Wild Card Game presented by Budweiser on Wednesday, Oct. 1 (start time is tbd). The Sunday Night Baseball team – play-by-play voice Dan Shulman, analyst John Kruk and reporter Buster Olney – will provide commentary for the telecast. Baseball Tonight will precede the NL Wild Card Game with a one-hour pre-game show.
The NL Wild Card Game will also be available on ESPN Deportes and on ESPN International platforms in Latin America, the Pacific Rim, the Caribbean and cruise ships.
ESPN Audio, the national radio home of the Major League Baseball postseason, will broadcast both the NL and AL Wild Card Games. The AL Wild Card Game is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 30.
NL Wild Card on WatchESPN
The NL Wild Card Game will also be available via WatchESPN, accessible online at WatchESPN.com, on smartphones and tablets via the WatchESPN app, and streamed on televisions through Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox 360 or Xbox One to fans who receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.
ESPN’s exclusive, annual Wild Card telecast is a highlight under the company’s new, multiplatform rights agreement with MLB, which went into effect this year. ESPN will also televise all potential MLB tiebreaker games on Monday, September 29. 2014 marks ESPN’s 25th Major League Baseball season.
