ESPN Audio & NBA Reach Nine-Year Agreement Through 2024-25

Enhanced Rights Include Spanish-Language for ESPN Deportes Radio & Expanded English-Language Distribution; Regular-Season, All-Star, Playoff, Finals Broadcasts Continue

ESPN Audio has reached a nine-year, multiplatform agreement with the National Basketball Association, beginning with the 2016-17 season, expanding ESPN Audio’s exclusivity and including additional rights and opportunities. While increasing its English-language distribution rights, ESPN Audio will become the exclusive Spanish-language national rights holder through ESPN Deportes Radio on terrestrial radio, satellite and all forms of radio devices including digital and third party platforms.

“Championship play by play and compelling talk are the tent poles of ESPN Audio, so we are thrilled to expand our relationship with the NBA through 2025, continuing our English-language comprehensive coverage from Opening Night through the last game of the Finals,” said Traug Keller, ESPN senior vice president, production business divisions.  “Adding top-tier content for ESPN Deportes Radio and expanding our distribution platforms only strengthens our ability to serve NBA fans.”

The new and enhanced rights include:

  • Exclusive Spanish-language rights, including the playoffs and Finals, across terrestrial radio, satellite and all forms of radio devices
  • Exclusive English-language rights across satellite and all forms of radio devices.

ESPN Audio will continue to:

  • Provide season-long English-language broadcast coverage on terrestrial radio
  • Broadcast the NBA Draft.
