ESPN and NCAA Collaborate to Announce Four No. 1 Seeds on Twitter Before the Show
ESPNU will televise the NCAA Hockey Championship Selection Show on Sunday, March 22, at noon ET, unveiling the 16-team field for the NCAA Men’s Division I Hockey Championship. The tournament begins with the eight regional semifinals and four finals from March 27-29 and concludes with the Frozen Four in Boston, Mass., on Thursday, April 9 (semifinals) and Saturday, April 11 (finals). ESPN will cover every game from the tournament, with complete details announced early next week.
ESPN’s lead college hockey voice, John Buccigross, will anchor the Selection Show and be joined alongside analyst Dave Starman. Select head coaches will join the show after their team has been named to the field.
Before the Selection Show, at 11 a.m., the NCAA will tweet out – in alphabetical order – the four No.1 seeds (@NCAAIceHockey). Moments later, after receiving the official bracket from the NCAA, Buccigross will take to his twitter account (@Buccigross) to announce the numerical order of the No.1 seeds and the region in which they will be located in.
